Experience Prague from the Vltava River

Drift past gothic spires, baroque palaces, and the iconic Charles Bridge while enjoying a fresh perspective on the City of a Hundred Spires.

See the heart of Prague from a different angle

Prague is a city defined by its river.

The Vltava winds through the historic center, separating the Old Town from the Little Quarter and the Castle District.

A river cruise offers a peaceful escape from the bustling streets, allowing you to glide beneath the arches of the Charles Bridge, admire the skyline of Prague Castle, and uncover hidden gems like the Certovka Canal, all while relaxing on deck with a drink or a meal..

Prague River Cruises Visiting timetable

Cruises depart throughout the day and evening, year-round. Sightseeing boats run frequently from morning until sunset, while dinner and jazz cruises typically depart between 7 PM and 9 PM.

Prague River Cruises Closing Days

Most cruises operate daily, including holidays. Schedules may be adjusted slightly on Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve, but the river is active in all seasons.

Where is Located

Prague, Czech Republic – Vltava River Embankments & Quays

Where to board your Prague river cruise

Most river cruises depart from the embankments near the historic center. The main docks are located at Dvořákovo nábřeží (near the InterContinental Hotel and Čechův Bridge) and Rašínovo nábřeží (near Palackého Bridge and the Dancing House). Always check your ticket for the specific pier number.

By Train

If arriving by train at Prague Main Station (Hlavní nádraží), you can take the metro (Line C) or a tram toward the river. It's a short ride or a pleasant 15-20 minute walk through the New Town to reach the Dvořákovo embankment.

By Car

Parking in the center of Prague can be challenging and expensive due to residential zones. We recommend parking in a paid garage (like the Palladium shopping mall or Rudolfinum garage) and walking to the river. Once on the boat, you can relax without worrying about meters.

By Bus

Prague's tram network is excellent. Trams 17 and other lines run along the riverbank, stopping at Právnická fakulta or Staroměstská for the Old Town docks, and Jiráskovo náměstí for docks closer to the Dancing House.

On Foot

The docks are easily accessible on foot from the Old Town Square or Wenceslas Square. A stroll through Pařížská street leads directly to Čechův Bridge, a popular departure point. The scenic walk along the riverbank is an experience in itself.

Prague River Cruises

The Charles Bridge & Old Town

Glide right beneath the gothic arches of Charles Bridge, dating back to the 14th century. From the water, you can see the statues and towers from a unique angle that pedestrians on the crowded bridge deck often miss.

Prague Castle & Lesser Town

The panorama of Prague Castle—the largest ancient castle complex in the world—rising above the terracotta roofs of the Lesser Town (Malá Strana) is the highlight of any cruise, especially when illuminated at night.

Kampa Island & Devil's Stream

Known as 'Prague's Venice,' the Kampa Island area and the charming Certovka canal offer a quiet, romantic atmosphere. Smaller boats can navigate these narrow waterways past old watermills and weeping willows.
